*If it is not available they are only too happy to attempt to obtain
it for you. The bookshop is also not without its
occurrences. One day one of the clerks noticed what she thought was
a Confederate Officer re-enactor reaching for a book in the
Gettysburg section. She went to inquire if he needed assistance. He
was only out of her sight for a split second, but when she rounded
the corner, he was no longer there. He had simply vanished. Looking
up at the section of books, she noticed that a book on Pickett's
Charge was pulled part of the way off of the shelf. Perhaps he
wanted to read about a day of the battle that he did not live to
see. On other occasions, customers describe seeing a similar
soldier, and when they turn to see him again, there is no one there.
He had simply vanished right before their eyes.
The Bookshop staff have a saying.....
