The bookshop is also not without its occurrences. One day one of the clerks noticed what she thought was a Confederate Officer re-enactor reaching for a book in the Gettysburg section. She went to inquire if he needed assistance. He was only out of her sight for a split second, but when she rounded the corner, he was no longer there. He had simply vanished. Looking up at the section of books, she noticed that a book on Pickett's Charge was pulled part of the way off of the shelf. Perhaps he wanted to read about a day of the battle that he did not live to see. On other occasions, customers describe seeing a similar soldier, and when they turn to see him again, there is no one there. He had simply vanished right before their eyes.

The Bookshop staff have a saying..... "They go where They want, when They want!!"
